I bought this as a spare room device for my parent's house. Not only is it smaller than their previous CRT/Freeview Box/DVD player setup, it is also much simpler and a lot more attractive in situ.

The unit arrived promptly and I was relieved to find out that the smoked plastic effect round the edges is much less jarring in real life than it is in the photo. The unit is very logically and neatly laid out and even my parents found it easy to operate (my small daughter loves the slot-loading DVD).

Having seen other much pricier units suffer terribly from unrealistic colours and a viewing angle that drops off sharply I was pleased that this unit suffers from this hardly at all. The layout of the remote is logical and efficient and my only gripe is that the audio is a bit thin and muddy, I have to turn it up a bit more than I'd like to hear clearly. Still this is partly due to the TV being stood away from the wall, put it against a wall and the reflected sound will go a long way to alleviate this.

The main thing to note about this TV is that although it is HD ready, its forte is standard definition broadcasts, its HD performance is undistinguished. Its not that bad, just not that good either. It is great at normal TV however.

I have given it 4 stars because it is good value and I couldn't reasonably expect it to behave better than it does with an HD source. Also its compactness and ease of use are big pluses in my opinion.

All in, for the money I paid I am well pleased and more to the point, so are my parents!

Im not a journalist and dont have a degree in english, so you could say this review would please the Plain English brigade, lol. In short this telly is brilliant. Auto tune does all the hard work, finding both analogue and digital channels including radio. The remote control unit is very easy to navigate. The picture and sound quality is superb across the full spectrum (this may vary though depending on your location). That said, i live in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside and have no problems. For a flat screen tv its a little on the thick side, but is does have the dvd incorporated. The stand is pretty nifty and you are able to tilt the unit safely. My unit is wall mounted and my only niggle is that the owners manual doesnt explain how to remove the stand, but it does fold a full 90* so its not a problem.This is a great all round tv best suited for small/medium rooms and very well priced.Highly reccommended

I already had a Toshiba black flatscreen tv in my bedroom, but it always felt a bit too tecchie for a bedroom. When I saw a white version - complete with built in dvd player, I couldn't help but buy it. It was very easy to setupand works marvellously. A few points: the sound is not as good as my original tv, not enough bass and not very loud, but i hardly require surround sound for the bedroom. The on/off switch often needs a second push to get going. Also, the picture quality is good, but not great. However, bearing all that in mind -it's a great bedroom tv and fits in with my white walls perfectly! I actually love it!

Known fault with DV range - Mr. J. Mathews - UK
In January of this year we bought a Toshiba 19DV665DB and after only 3 months it developed a fault. After about 15 to 20 minutes of usage, the sound would turn off of its own accord although the picture remained on. When I contacted Toshiba they stated the following "Toshiba are aware that a number of TV's within the DV range have been experiencing this issue. They require a simple firmware upgrade to overcome this." I am assuming Toshiba have fixed this issue with their latest TV's, but you must consider how long TV's have sat in stock with this known issue before you opt for one of the DV range of TV's from Toshiba.

I bought a Toshiba REGZA 32" 18 months ago and it has impressed me and my friends - almost as good as HD in normal digital! So when I wanted a kitchen replacement for my old sony I looked at reviews and chose another Toshiba. Most of the flat screen TV's in this size suffer from poor tinny sound. This TV also lacks depth of tone but it's much better than I expected. The TV was easy to set up and worked perfectly straight away. I was able to adjust the sound quality and picture easily and have not made any adjustments since. The DVD player is a useful extra for the grand children who always seem to want to watch different things. It is a little slow to go into action and change channels but that is a very minor gripe.
